INTRODUCTION:

The summer 2000 timetable saw the innovations of the previous couple of years withdrawn. The extension of the Manchester to Brighton working to and from Preston was no more. The Summer Saturdays Ramsgate working was withdrawn completely.

TIMETABLE and ROUTE:

Engineering work in the Birmingham area saw the weekend services either miss out New Street or Coventry and Birmingham International. I don't have details of the alternative routes for these alterations. I would guess that when missing New Street trains were diverted via Aston and Bescot to Wolverhampton. Missing Coventry etc must have put the trains back on their original 1979 route via Solihull. If you know different please let me know.
