INTRODUCTION: The major change for 1989 was only one Saturday train running via the WCML, everything else was routed back to the Thames Valley. Also from 1989 none of the trains serve Didcot, Lockerbie or Haymarket, Slough was only served by a Saturday train. TIMETABLE and ROUTE: The Sussex Scot and Brighton to Manchester departures were effectively swopped to give a morning departure for the 'Scot'. Saturdays once again saw the Brighton services running to and from Eastbourne. Sundays see lots of alterations due to engineering works. On some dates the Brighton to Edinburgh service runs via Moreton-in-March and Worcester Shrub Hill. There was no longer any Sunday service to or from Kent. There are a lot of notes due to various alterations to the Sunday services because of engineering works, as a result the Sunday details have been simplified a bit.......I know it doesn't look like it!
