Inter regional loco hauled services from Brighton 1996.

1996 saw little change to the train service. The only real alteration was that the 'Sussex Scot' now ran to and from Edinburgh once again instead of Glasgow. On summer Saturdays the Manchester service continued to run to and from Eastbourne. The dated train between Birmingham and Ramsgate continued to run. I have no details of haulage for this service. Sundays the train ran via Guildford, on Saturdays the southbound 'Sussex Scot' did not serve East Croydon although it appears to be routed that way. No trains other than the Ramsgate service called at Kensington Olympia on Saturdays.

Class 47/8's remained the order of the day between Preston/Manchester and Brighton with a class 86/2 north of Preston.
